decis and the pollinators

  • The ‘Hazard Quotient’ (Dose rate ÷ Honey Bee LD50 ) reflects the relative toxicity of a product to bees.
  • In many uses, decis has a low ‘Hazard Quotient’, similar to low hazard standards (e.g. phosalone) & equivalent or better than many competitors.

Honey Production

In field conditions, decis has been found to be compatible with honey production thanks to:
  • Low bee mortality at registered rates.
  • No or short term disturbance to foraging (depending on time and rate of application).
  • No reduction in hive production, development or brood comb strength.
  • No residues in honey.
  • Short term repellency effect.

decis and Bee Stewardship

  • To minimise any disruption, apply when bees are not actively foraging e.g. early morning or late evening.
  • Do not apply on windy days to prevent drift.
  • Avoid aircraft application to reduce drift.
